What is On The Lot Productions, LLC ?

On the Lot Productions, LLC (OTLP) is a production company with the focus of the production of independent films, documentaries and reality shows.  

OTLP offers available services to first-time filmmakers and independent producers as well as provide internships for those wanting to enter the film production world as a crew member.  

We are currently producing the independent television series ,THE KEYSTROKE KILLER, after the short film version became an instance cult classic reaching world-wide audiences. 

Also in production are four reality shows:

River Kings
The Baker Girls
The Body Shop
Reel Um In (working title)

OTLP has also been working with Dustin Weeks to develop That's Game:  The Paintball Crew  to get that project sold and distributed.

We are constantly on the lookout for new screenplays and reality shows to develop.
 
Who is the CEO and what is her experience?

The CEO is Dr. Melissa Caudle, has built a solid reputation as a filmmaker and reality show creator/producer.  She is currently producing the independent film THE KEYSTROKE KILLER after the her short film became an instant cult classic receiving reviews all over the world. Now, The Keystroke KIller has been developed into a television series.
 
Dr. Mel is committed to providing quality service to the film and television community along the Gulf Coast. Her home state of Louisiana has been named the number one film state in America. She is proud to call New Orleans her home.  She has published numerous books on creating reality shows and to help screenwriters.  Her book, THE REALITY OF REALITY TV that offers a step-by-step approach to wiritng business plans for reality shows has been translated into German, Spanish, Japanese and is the number one seller of her books in "Bollywood.".  "These plans are different from those of films," Caudle says. Dr. Mel is a retired award winning high school principal that came into the television and production arena in 1986.  She began her television career on the Phil Donahue Show, when she was called in as an expert on school crisis management and school violence.   After her book, Crisis Alert System Implementation sold worldwide, she became known internationally, traveling throughout the world on the lecture circuit.  

Eventually, Dr. Mel had her own segment on CBS, Family Matters with Dr. Mel, that ran weekly in New Orleans.  She then was a journalist, served as the Program Director of a local television station in Alabama where she developed a deep knowledge and understanding of production from the ground up. 




She has been part of the crew on several independent films, such as Steve Esteb's Dirty Politics and The Swider Brother film Girls Gone Gangsta as well as documentaries, television programs, including the reality television series Girls Next Door and dozens of commercials. 

She started as an extra on a film and then decided to jump to production and became a production assistant.  Since that time she worked various crew positions including producer, director, casting, production coordinator, travel coordinator, 1st AD, extras casting, and celebrity personal assistant.  Most recently she worked on the new T.D. Jakes film, Woman Thou Are Loosed:  On the Seventh Day.as production coordinator and the Sony film Straw Dogs.

When not serving as a member of a film crew, Dr. Mel enjoys being in front of the camera.  She has been in films such as Big Mammas House 2 with Martin Lawrence, All the Kings Men with Sean Penn, as a socialite on the film Librarian 3 with Noah Wylie, Leoni, and Final Destination Four.  For a listing of film credits, both in front of the camera and behind it visit IMDB.

Does OTLP work with other filmmakers and production companies?

Yes, we do and we are proud of it.  One example is with the award winning film Director of Photography, Lou Angeli, filmaker of Answering the Call which is narrated by Kathleen Turner.  Angeli recently joined our network  and is working with OTLP on the documentary film, Living Out Death Row.  For more information on Angeli visit www.louangeli.com .

OTLP has just recently teamed up with DADS and Montgomery Jones Productions LLC to produce the reality show RIVER KINGS created by Jason Box.  Co-Producers on this project include Doug Ames, Dallas Montogomery, Jodie Jones, and Jason Box.

What projects has OTLP produced?


We are very proud of the fact that we have produced several documentary films, short films and a dozen or more commercials.  We just completed the film Dark Blue she co-produced with Dave C. Kirtland of New Guy Films and are in pre-production on THE KEYSTROKE KILLER.  

Completed documentary films include Mexico Missions, Living Out Death Row, The Dolphins in Terry Cove, and The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, OTLP has also produced dozens of television commercials.  

We are currently seeking investors for devlopmental two feature films, Auditing Richard Biggs and Dreamweaver besides producing The Keystroke Killer..
